| Love can lift the veil
January 9, 2002 c by Jennifer Allen
As a child she danced to the song of her Art
Her hands and feet just knew the way
A dance so free charmed his silent heart
This spirit dancer he must tame
Hope beneath a veil - she gave him her hand
Innocent and true she met the day
He taught her how to give him songs for his heart
With each note she gave herself away
If Love can build a life
surely Love can mend the wheel
If the moon can charm the endless sea
then Love . . . can lift the veil.
The tempest tossed and blew a cold wind through his words
In the emptiness she hides her heart
The fire beneath the veil would not go out
There to protect the richest part.
The seeds she plants feel the song of her heart
She tends to them lovingly
The tune she hums to gently draw them out
For a while the veil ceases to be.
If Love can build a life
surely Love can mend the wheel
If the moon can charm the endless sea
then Love . . . can lift the veil.
Through the darkness in her bed she pulls the veil from her head
In the night she dreams a beautiful dream
(in the night she dreams a beautiful dream)
She dances through her day hands and feet just knows the way
In her dream she smiles a beautiful smile
And wonders why, and wonders why . . .
She has to hid the song in her heart
He wants her hands and feet to lose their way
The winds of change another spirit found to tame
And when he left the veil was swept away.
If Love can build a life
surely Love can mend the wheel
If her hands and feet can dance the dance
Her heart can finally heal
If she can dream a beautiful dream
Love can make it real
If the moon can charm the endless sea
then Love . . . can lift the veil
